TRAINING AVAILABLE

Puppy Classes

The new puppy; lovely, cuddly, sweet - until the piddling on the carpet, the chewing of furniture and shoes, the whining in the night and so on!!

What’s that? “Not my pup, I’d never let that happen”?

The reality is that unless this is addressed from the start it can, and probably will, happen with any pup!!

So why not learn how to prevent it by attending our Puppy Classes? We can even help you find the right puppy for you and your family, supply gear reasonably priced so you are prepared for when puppy arrives.

We start with one-on-one sessions, then if you wish you can graduate to our 4 Week Class, which will help you to teach your pup the basics of social and acceptable behaviour.

Our sessions are held in safe and secure surroundings which encourage the pups to explore and extend themselves.

Domestic Training

Every dog owner wants to be able to enjoy a well behaved dog in their home.

You may be new to dog ownership and not sure what to do next. Or you may have given a home to a dog that needed to be re-homed and already has some bad habits or has had an unhappy time previously.

At Tevra we use flexible training methods adjusted to suit yours and your dogs individual needs. We will teach you how to train your dog, and how to continue with the training once you get home. We will keep in contact with you between sessions to provide support to you, your family and your dog.

Initial sessions are usually one on one, then move to group sessions to encourage socialisation.

Agility Training

Agility training is incorporated as part of certificate training.
Basic agility training is also available with Linda George.

• About Beginners Pre-Agility Training
Pre-agility is for dogs between 12-18 months old (and often older dogs to help with the basic experience of agility).  This is a class which introduces agility equipment - jump basics, learning a simple weave, some 'contact' training, and tunnels.

• Advanced Pre-Agility Training
For those that have attended the first course and wish to continue with training to full height jumps (for their dogs), handling skills, some simple courses, rules and regulations of agility, leading to beginners ribbon trial competition level. (Dogs should be over 16 months old).

Flyball

Flyball is a fun, fast, exciting activity for ball driven dogs, encompassing all things that dogs love to do - jumping, catching, retrieving, competing and striving to please their owners. It is a sport in which any dog can participate, regardless of breed, shape or size. The objective is for the dog to race over 5 hurdles, touch a target releasing a ball, which the dog catches, and races back over the hurdles to the start point. Competition involves teams of 3 dogs racing against each other in a relay fashion.

Tevra Dog Training Flyball classes are kept small in number to ensure everyone gets plenty of practice!!

Rally-O

Rally-O is a fun, fast growing activity for dogs that would like to add a little variety to their training!  Each dog and handler navigates a course comprised of various obedience exercises.  This type of course is ideally suited to dogs who are under good basic control and wish to have fun while continuing to train.

Domestic classes are run in an informal relaxed atmosphere, combining the exercises with socialisation (for dogs and handlers!).

For those who wish to work towards competition, courses are timed, judged and are designed to allow handlers and their dogs to have fun and earn titles, while competing in a more relaxed environment.  Beginner level competition is performed with the dog on-leash, while more advanced Rally-O competition is performed off-leash.

Rally-O also encourages handlers with disabilities, dogs with disabilities and junior handlers to compete.

Rally-O allows teams to strengthen their human-canine bond and continue their education while having fun together.

So, if you are looking for something new and exciting to try with your four legged friend……

Ready, Set, Rally-O!

Competition Training

Janice will guide you through the training of your dog until you enter the ring for the first time. She will ensure that she or one of her team is with you to help with registration and warm-ups, and be at the ringside to support you all the way through. If you wish, your round can be videotaped for you to watch afterwards (you can never remember what happened when you come out of the ring!!).

Following the competition, Janice will work with you to improve your performance ready to progress through the Obedience Tests on your way to attaining Championship status!!
